It was Thursday and these very expected events were about to start. The cultural

week was here once again, and as usual, everyone was very excited. High school would be visiting different places, while elementary and preschool would stay at school and enjoy

various activities.

Tenth grade was supposed to go to Mundo Aventura, the amusement park, but

unfortunately, it wasn't possible, which made me really disappointed because I really wanted

to go. We ended up going to Chicaque, a natural reserve to do an ecologic walk through the

park, which in my personal opinion is what we have done the last 2 or 3 years, but I think it is

not only where we go, it's also about our attitude, and after a long bus ride full of music and fun, we arrived at a place full of mist and at the very top of a mountain. The first words of the guide were “This is like climbing Monserrate twice in a day” and let me tell you he wasn't joking, we started very smoothly as we were descending, and as the ground was very slippery, we fell like a hundred times, and after a very, very long walk, we stopped to have lunch.

Just when we were about to finish our lunch, rain started to fall heavily, and in that moment, I realized that not only we had to climb up again under the rain, but that the really inclined road we just descended, with a really high inclination, was the same we were about

to climb. It took us hours to get back to the top, but despite the rain, the lack of oxygen, the distance, the other hundred times we fell down, we made it to the bus. When we reached the bus, we were all wet, dirty, tired and sweaty, but I think we really enjoyed it, and after a long rest on the bus, and a good hot shower we were very ready for the next day.

On Friday, we were staying in the school to do different activities and do the classic observation race. This year it was based on the Divergent and The Hunger Games trilogy.

We were divided into 20 different districts, but only one would be the winner at the end of the day. Now, in my personal experience, throughout all the years I have been participating in these cultural days, I have never won, so I challenged myself to not leave the school without winning, and I really felt this was my year to win, not only because I had all the will to win,

but also I had a great group, so I really hoped this could be my year.

The day started by gathering the districts in the Coliseum, an introduction from the student council, followed by the distribution of materials to create a special logo for the group, the map, and the first clue, (of course we had to solve it), and make our own cheer for our team, and as soon as they said we could go to our first station we ran with all the energy.

We ran through all the stations with all we got, and won every game we were challenged to, by noon we were all dirty, wet, but still had a lot spirit, we changed clothes,

had lunch, and waited anxiously for the results. The end of the day was full of colors and great music, but most of all, an incredible joy, turns out we won, and I was able to check it off my bucket list, even when if it doesn't seem like much I felt really proud about everything we

had done that day, because at the end of the day I concluded it’s all about attitude. I have

nothing left to say except thank you to the student council, Naoki, the presidents and each of the class representatives, and every one that worked very hard in order to make this

possible.
